The Colombo International Nautical and Engineering College (CINEC) is the largest Maritime Education and Training facility approved by the Directorate of Merchant Shipping in Sri Lanka. The CINEC Maritime Campus, as it is popularly known, was established to provide a professional seat of learning for seafarers.

The primary objective of the organization is to develop skills of seafarers to meet the requirements of IMO/STCW\'95 convention and to develop and maintain their professional standards as demanded by ship owners.

The Maritime Campus is situated in Malabe close to Sri Lanka\'s administrative capital, Sri Jayawardenapura. It is equipped with modern classroom facilities, laboratories, workshops and demonstration rooms. The Simulator Centre is fitted with a full mission bridge maneuvering simulator encompassing latest technology. A Marine Engine simulator, a full mock up Engine Room and Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator contribute towards the transfer of competency based knowledge to all course delegates.

The Electrical Laboratory, the Electronics Laboratory and the Automation and Control systems Laboratory are but a few additional facilities rarely found in similar institutions in the region. The college has provided modern residential facilities for students. A fully equipped kitchen and cafeteria provide wholesome food. A swimming pool and a gymnasium together with a basketball court and ample space for jogging and games provide students a good recreational environment. The Campus is accredited to ISO 9001 and is probably one among a few educational institutions with ISO 14001 Environmental Standards and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Standards. The organization still remains the only educational institution to be bestowed with the National Quality Award for excellence in educational services in Sri Lanka.
