Indika joined CINEC in 2009, firstly the engineering foundation and then I graduated in BEng (Hons.) Mechatronics with a first class.

Capt. Prasanna Sedrick started his sea career on being selected for the second batch of Deck Cadets of CINEC way back in 1991. After completing his cadetship with London Ship Managers (through ALF Shipping), he successfully completed his different grades of Certificates of Competency ending with his Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner (Class 1-Unlimited) from UK. He then joined a private Maritime Training Academy as Principal.
I completed my secondary education at Nalanda College and having passed the Advanced level examination in mathematics stream in 1992, entered CINEC (previously known as Institute of Maritime Studies (IMS) in 1993.
After finishing my A/L s a St. Sylvester’s college – Kandy as a bio student in 1991 , I went to work at Hotel Galadari Meridien as a restaurant cashier since my A/L marks were insufficient to get into the university.
