CINEC CAMPUS – Jaffna Branch

Bringing Light to Minds Darkened by Civil War: The Story of CINEC Jaffna Campus

Established in 2010, the CINEC Jaffna Campus was founded with the vision of increasing access to higher education in a region recovering from the devastation of civil war. This initiative aimed to empower individuals and communities by providing quality education and skill development opportunities.

The campus offers a diverse range of accredited programs, from English Language and Information Technology to Welding Technology and internationally recognized maritime courses. Initially located at 448/3 KKS Road, Maruthanarmadam, the campus was equipped with state-of-the-art facilities for technical training, including a welding workshop, a machine and fitting workshop, and a model engine room. At CINEC, we strongly believe that hands-on experience is as vital as theoretical knowledge.

Since its establishment, the Jaffna Campus has proudly achieved remarkable milestones:

  • 33 batches of Pre-Sea Deck Rating programs, training 810 students.
  • 31 batches of Pre-Sea Engine Rating programs, involving 529 students.
  • 29 graduates from the Diploma in Teacher Training program.

As the demand for quality education grew, so did we. To accommodate a higher intake of students, a new branch was established in Jaffna along KKS Road, Mallakam. This modern facility includes air-conditioned classrooms, a recreation area, and other amenities designed to enhance the learning experience.

The new center primarily focuses on training courses leading up to undergraduate-level qualifications. Looking ahead, CINEC is committed to expanding its offerings with academic and professional programs tailored to meet the unique needs of the region’s citizens.
