Department of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering at CINEC Campus offers Ministry of Higher Education approved Bachelor of Science Honors in Engineering degree programs in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering specializations. The department also offers Master in Engineering Honors/ Bachelor of Engineering Honors degree programs in the specializations of Mechanical Engineering & Automotive Engineering from University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. PEARSON BTEC Higher National Diploma from Pearson, United Kingdom in the specialization of Mechanical Engineering is also offered by the department. 

Apart from offering these academic programs, the department also actively conducts research in various areas of Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, such as alternative fuel, Alternative Energy, Control engineering applications, Emerging Technologies, Structural & Dynamic Analysis, Electrical & Hybrid Vehicle Technologies, Heat Transfer Engineering, Material Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. 

The Department of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including well-equipped laboratories and classrooms, and a team of experienced and highly qualified faculty members. The department also collaborates with leading Engineering firms and industry experts in Sri Lanka to provide practical training and research opportunities to students, which prepares them for successful careers in the field.
