BSC in Maritime Operations

The general aim of the BSc in Maritime Operations is to develop students as independent learners and for a career as a Merchant Navy Deck Officer or in the Shipping Industry ashore. The students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes where such an undertaking demands. A curriculum of studies is offered that collectively represents the demands of the industry. During Phase III students will be following modules which develop their aptitudes and interests and allow study in greater depth whilst continuing with modules that allow them to develop aspects of their future career including management positions in the wider maritime industry.

Entry Requirements

This course is open for those who comply with the minimum standards and requirements stipulated below:

  1. Have a Credit Pass for English in GCE Ordinary Level Examination or equivalent;
  2. In one sitting shall have completed GCE Advanced Level with 03 passes in;
    • Physical Sciences stream or
    • Biological Sciences stream with a pass for Physics or
    • Engineering Technology stream or
    • Science for Technology stream or
  3. Secured any other equivalent or higher qualification, approved by the Specified

Authority of the Ministry in-charge of the subject of Higher Education

  1. The candidate shall be successful at the interviews conducted by CINEC; and
  2. The candidate shall pass a Medical Fitness test and the Sight Test to the satisfaction of the administration of the college.
