Director General of Merchant Shipping Visits CINEC

CINEC Campus was pleased to welcome Chief Engineer Jinesh Rajapaksha, Director General of Merchant Shipping, Sri Lanka, who visited the campus today.

Chief Engineer Rajapaksha has a distinguished journey with CINEC. He joined CINEC as a member of Engineering Cadet Batch 04 in 1995 and later completed his Class II Certificate of Competency programme at CINEC in 2005, followed by his Class I programme in 2007.

He also served as a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Marine Engineering, contributing to the development of future maritime professionals.

Chief Engineer Jinesh Rajapaksha holds the distinction of being the first Director General of Merchant Shipping in Sri Lanka to be appointed from among Sri Lankan Class I Certificate of Competency holders.

His visit was a proud and memorable occasion for CINEC, reflecting the strong relationship between the institution and its distinguished alumni who continue to contribute to the development of Sri Lanka’s maritime industry.
