“The Management Masterpiece”

Promoting Positive Mindsets Through Student Voices: The “Management Masterpiece” Initiative by the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, CINEC Campus

In today’s digitally driven world, young people are increasingly influenced by negative messaging—both from online platforms and from their immediate environments. Prolonged exposure to such negativity, especially during their formative years, can have long-term effects on mindset, self-esteem, and motivation. Recognizing this growing concern, the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences at CINEC Campus launched an innovative initiative titled “Management Masterpiece”—a student-led video competition designed to promote positivity, pride, and a sense of belonging among students.

This initiative was developed based on the findings of behavioral studies conducted with over 1,500 students across the faculty. These studies revealed a troubling pattern: many students were becoming increasingly disengaged and pessimistic, not only about their studies but also about their futures. Conventional counselling methods had limited impact, as many students were embedded in environments—familial and social—that reinforced negative thinking.
To counter this, the faculty introduced the “Management Masterpiece” video competition as an annual event. The goal was to provide students with a platform to reflect on and share the positive aspects of their academic journey. Participants were invited to create short videos highlighting the value of their degree programs, the high standards of teaching, opportunities for internships and field visits, extracurricular activities, modern facilities, and the caring academic environment provided by the faculty.

Students were trained in storytelling, video scripting, filming, and editing to ensure the creation of high-quality, engaging content. The initiative also included substantial cash prizes to recognize and reward creativity and effort, further motivating students to participate wholeheartedly.

We are proud to share that the second annual award ceremony of “Management Masterpiece” was successfully held recently, honoring the most impactful student submissions. The event not only celebrated student achievement but also showcased their talents and authentic perspectives to a wider internal and external audience.

The outcomes of the initiative have been overwhelmingly positive. Students have shown increased levels of confidence, enthusiasm, and appreciation toward their academic experience. The content generated through this competition is being used across various digital platforms to authentically represent CINEC’s academic environment, further enhancing the institution’s image and student recruitment efforts.

Moreover, faculty members have reported improved classroom engagement and more positive student interactions. Students have begun to view their challenges as opportunities and speak with greater pride about their affiliation with CINEC. The “Management Masterpiece” initiative has thus served not only as a communications tool but as a transformative educational and psychological intervention.

This model, driven by principles of positive psychology, media engagement, and peer influence, has proven effective in reshaping student attitudes. It provides a replicable framework for other faculties and institutions seeking to strengthen student motivation, institutional identity, and emotional resilience.

The Faculty of Management and Social Sciences remains committed to nurturing confident, well-rounded graduates, and initiatives like Management Masterpiece are an integral part of that mission.
