A Memorable Visit to Saga National University, Japan – The Alma Mater of Deputy President Prof. Sampath Amaratunge.

Recently, Deputy President Prof. Sampath Amaratunge had the great pleasure of visiting his alma mater, Saga National University, Japan. During his visit, he had the privilege of meeting the President, Deputy President, Dean of Economics, Secretary General, and Prof. Saliya of the Faculty of Economics.

The visit included fruitful discussions on student exchange opportunities, academic collaboration, and several other areas of mutual interest between the two institutions. Prof. Amaratunge also delivered a guest lecture on “Business Fluctuations in the Global Economy” at the Faculty of Economics.

Reflecting on the visit, Prof. Amaratunge described it as a deeply emotional and memorable experience to return to the university where he spent an important chapter of his academic journey. He expressed his sincere gratitude for the exceptionally warm welcome, honour, and hospitality extended to him by the leadership and academic community of Saga National University.
